Canon Pixma E461 Printer Reviews– Canon PIXMA E461 is an AIO (All-in-One) printer that offers print, scan and copy functions while still maintaining an affordable price tag.
The RM300 price is able to print documents up to A4, has a built-in wireless feature and support for Cloud services, so you can easily print photos or documents directly from mobile devices.

It also allows you to print content from popular websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Picasa, Fotobuketu, Flickr, Evernote and Dropbox.

The printer works on two ink cartridges: Black (PG-47) and color (CL-57). The black cartridge, claimed by Canon, is able to print up to 400 A4 pages, is sold at RM25. The color cartridge can be purchased for RM 49.90 and the company claims to be able to print up to 300 pages.

Easy to use

We found that this is a relatively unborn experience when setting up PIXMA E461 for the first time. Canon software includes software programs that make it easier to access and configure printer features. This is especially useful if you are the type of person who prefers not to go through a lot of software settings.

There is also an iOS and Android mobile app called Easy-fotoprint that you can use to print images and documents directly from your smartphone. It has a fairly simple interface so you can quickly set it up and start printing.

Acceptable
There’s also a Facebook app called Print days that you can use to create and print photo collages on Facebook. However, according to the announcement that was posted on the Facebook page, the service will be terminated from 30. April 2015.

This was caused by a problem with the maintenance of the service due to the “changes to the interface specifications of integrated application programming within Facebook”.

In terms of print quality, we found that it is generally satisfactory, especially since it is one of the affordable Canon printers. Photographic photographs were vivid, and the printed or copied documents were also very sharp. Printing A4 documents usually lasted slightly longer than a minute, while photo printing was usually less than two minutes.

E461 can perform duplex printing, but you need to manually rotate and feed the paper to make the print on the opposite side of the paper.

Viable choice

In general, we were satisfied with E461. The price is particularly tempting. The price of replacing ink cartridges is also quite reasonable.

However, if your printer uses only one color cartridge, you must replace the entire ink cartridge as soon as one of the main colors flows out of the primary color.

As a result, you may need to replace the printer’s color cartridge quite often, which could end up in a long-term cost.

There is no fax function available on E461, so the printer may not be suitable for Home Office users who should have such a feature available.

Overall, E461 is a good choice for those looking for a multifunction printer that can’t break the bank.
