Canon Pixma TR4590 Printer Reviews– The Canon TR4590 comes with all the bells and whistles you would like in a small home printer. You have two-sided printing … scanning … a great way to connect. This is a great little machine:
- Scanning, copying and faxing
- Automatic duplex printing
- 100 sheet input tray
- Wireless and USB connection
- Apple Airprint
- Amazon compatible
- Mono printing up to 9ppm
- Color printing up to 4ppm
- Automatic Document Feeder
- Print borderless photos
Speed and quality of the printer
The Canon Pixma TR4590 is quite standard for home printer performance with the exact print quality and speed you would expect for a home-based machine. The speed is equal to any other cheap home machine, up to 9ppm for black printing and up to 4ppm for color. 6×4 frameless printing takes about 65 seconds.

The print quality is “reliable,” with a clean and crisp document printing backed by respected photographic printing. If you are mostly printing images, you do not have to watch this printer as it is more than a complete workhorse than an image printer, and for the standard home user the quality is more than good enough.
Cartridges and running costs
The Canon TR4590 used PG-545 and CL-546 FINE printer cartridges. These cartridges have built-in printheads, so they are expensive to buy, but this means that if you print very rarely or do not print at all, if the ink dries, just replace the cartridge and do not damage the printer.
Just taking 2 inks means the Canon TR4590 printer is more expensive to run, because when one of the colors runs out, the entire tri-color cartridge needs to be replaced. Original inks with standard capacity are the most expensive way to print using this printer at ~ 8p per page. While high-capacity originals cost a little more, they work considerably cheaper when it comes to printing ~ 5.8p per page. Compatible values represent the best value, costing only 4.7p per page. Canon promotes the use of high capacity cartridges claiming you can save up to 30%, but you will not get away from the fact that this printer is not cheap to work and is definitely aimed at people who will print very rarely.
This machine is ideal for anyone who needs a combination of a printer / scanner to keep their home and does not need to print large quantities. What it does does it well, just make sure that you do not print more than 100 pages per month, or you’ll find that your costs are getting pretty fast.
